Ifá is a sacred tradition of the Yoruba people of present-day Nigeria, Benin, and Togo, with a continuous lineage stretching back many centuries. Ifá divination is performed by an initiated babalawo or iyanifá using either the opele divining chain or sacred palm nuts (ikin) on a divining tray (opon Ifá).
